Missouri
State University is a
metropolitan campus located in the heart of
Springfield, Missouri.
Missouri State, with its over 21,000 student
enrollment, offers more than
150 undergraduate
majors and 47 graduate programs—many are the
state’s strongest and largest of their kind.
The average class size is 26 for freshman and
sophomore level courses and 16 for junior and
senior level courses. Nearly 90 percent of
Missouri State’s 700 full-time faculty members
have a doctorate or the highest degree in their
field. At Missouri State you will see all the
resources of a major university while still
receiving that personal attention you would only
expect from a smaller school. Missouri State
students also get the competitive edge through
the state's largest internship program, which
encourages employers throughout Missouri and the
world to hire our graduates. Missouri State
graduates have also gone on to succeed at top
graduate and professional schools across the
country.
The
Missouri State
campus is compact. The design of
our campus and the ease it takes to get from
class to class is rare at a university of our
size. Missouri State students seldom have more
than a five minute walk between classes.
Students also enjoy outstanding academic and
athletic facilities. From the Meyer Library to
the Plaster Sports Complex and the new JQH Arena our students can be
proud of their campus.
In addition the campus
dormitories are among the best in the nation. Lady Bear student-athletes typically are housed
in suite style dorms that include private
bathrooms and a separate kitchenette and dining
area. These suite style dorms are virtually a
small apartment making on-campus living
comfortable. Free laundry services and dorm
side parking are also a perk for students
living on campus
